In order to collaborate with other advisors to owner-managers and create a Community that better understands their unique perspectives, The Bigelow Company has created three video case studies that showcase the unique situations owner-managers bring to the table when contemplating the sale of their business.
The Case of the Uncertain Entrepreneur
In this video, the stage is set for a typical Bigelow meeting with an Entrepreneur Owner-Manager (Shannon) who is contemplating the sale of her business. Common issues are raised about current Management structure and needs, family ownership concerns, valuation ambiguity, juxtaposed against Shannon’s personal goals and ambitions outside of the business.
The Uncertain Entrepreneur Revisited: Coulda, Should, Woulda
The first of two sequels revisits our Entrepreneur Shannon one year later. In this scenario, her business has been negatively impacted by external economic factors, poor internal Management decisions (specifically related to being a family-owned business), and declining revenues. Shannon stresses the need for better direction from external advisors.
The Uncertain Entrepreneur Revisited: When it All Goes Well
The second of two sequels revisits Shannon and her business one year later under more positive conditions. Based on following the advice of her advisors, e.g. appointing a Board, hiring a CFO, and proper allocation of resources and continual reinvestment in the business, Shannon’s revenues are up and she is ready to discuss capturing the value of her business.
In order to maximize the quality and depth of our dialogue, The Bigelow Forum is an invitation-only event to which we invite a small and diverse group of other expert advisors to owner-managers. Attendees have continued access to program summaries and resources. To learn more about the Forum, please contact Rena Janus at 603-766-2934.
