John-Michael GIRALD, Vice President

John-Michael ("JM") Girald has advised middle market, entrepreneurial-run companies involved in mergers and acquisitions for his entire professional career. Girald is expert in dissecting and analyzing client data and then translating that information into understandable, "bite size" segments for prospective investors. He particularly enjoys collaborating with passionate management teams to best identify and articulate unique attributes and growth strategies.

Leadership & Education

Prior to joining The Bigelow Company in 2003, Girald worked as a Senior Analyst in the middle market mergers & acquisitions advisory group of Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc., (now Stifel, Nicolaus, & Company, Inc.). He provided transaction support on initial public offerings, private placements of debt and equity capital, fairness opinions, mergers and acquisitions, and special situation advisory. As a member of Legg Mason, Girald gained sell-side advisory experience in a broad range of manufacturing, distribution and service industries, including staffing services, branded consumer products, metal manufacturing, building products, and training.

Girald received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Villanova University, where he became a Villanova Wildcat Hoops fanatic and met his wife.

A native of New England, but an avid Yankees fan, Girald lives in Rye, New Hampshire with his wife Kristin, daughters Ally and Audrey, and Goldendoodle Mya.  His interests include folk music, downhill skiing, running, golfing, active outdoor adventures, and reading fiction. Girald is FINRA licensed Series 7, 24, 63, 79.

Clients have described JM as a "master of all details" and in several instances as "their outsourced CFO."
