Robert E. MACLEOD, Managing Director

Robert E. MacLeod has successfully advised and structured value capturing engagements for Bigelow clients since joining the firm in 2000. MacLeod is devoted to working with owner-managers and advising their privately held business on value creation and value capture strategies. He believes that weaving together diverse experiences garnered from numerous industries and client situations unlocks creative latticework strategies that prove extremely beneficial to Bigelow clients.

Leadership & Education

Prior to joining Bigelow, MacLeod was a partner at Koffler & Company, a Los Angeles-based mergers & acquisitions advisory boutique specializing in family-owned enterprises. He has also held positions in the investment banking divisions of Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, and Sutro & Company in Los Angeles and New York. MacLeod received his Master of Business Administration, with honors, from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Middlebury College.

MacLeod lives in Rye, New Hampshire with his wife Kathleen, daughter Michaela, and twins Ian and Skye.

He and his wife are great supporters of not-for-profit social service organizations, and he formerly served as Treasurer and Member of the Board of Trustees of New Hampshire Public Radio. MacLeod is FINRA licensed Series 7, 24, 28, 63, 79, 99.

MacLeod has over 18 years of corporate finance experience, including positions with large Wall Street investment banks, giving him a distinctive perspective on the mergers & acquisitions landscape.
